Nd doped Yttrium Vanadate (Nd:YVO4)

Neodymium doped Yttrium Vanadate (Nd:YVO4) is a new crystal for diode pumped lasers. Several advantages with respect to Nd: YAG include a wide Nd absorption peak, lower threshold and polarized output. The wide absorption peak allows to use the diode lasers with optimum pump wavelength centered at 808 nm with a useful range of 802 to 820 nm. In this case the laser output power is less sensitive to drifting of the diode pump wavelength due to temperature or other effects. For Nd:YAG useful pumping range is 808 ± 3 nm .
