All-Russia Research Institute of Automatics (VNIIA)
is honored by the Russian Federation Ministry of Atomic Energy to host
the "Portable Neutron Generators and Generator-Based Technologies"
International Conference on October 18 - 22, 2004. The Conference will
be held in the year when VNIIA celebrates its 50-th anniversary and the
centenary of its first Director, Chief Designer and Scientific
Supervisor, Thrice Hero of Socialist Labor, the Correspondent Member of
the Soviet Union Academy of Sciences, Nickolay L. Dukhov.
Conference Program
The Conference program will cover all aspects of the development and
application of portable neutron generators in various areas of science
and technology.
Discussions at the Conference will cover the following topics:
- Modern neutron generators and prospects of their development;
- Neutron technologies and neutron technology based equipment for
detection and identification of fissile materials, toxic agents,
explosives, drugs, etc.;
- Neutron generator applications for control of passengers'
luggage, transportation containers including heavy-freight
containers etc. at the customs check-points;
- Neutron generator-driven logging equipment for monitoring the
development of oil and gas fields and uranium deposits;
- Neutron radiography with the application of portable neutron
generators;
- Neutron-activation analysis with the application of neutron
generators;
- Environmental monitoring with the application of portable
neutron generators;
- Portable neutron generator medical applications.

The plenary session discussions will be focused on the most essential
issues of neutron generator development and applications.
Proceedings of the International Scientific and Technical Conference
"Portable Neutron Generators and Generator-Based Technologies" will be
published.
The working languages of the Conference are Russian and English.
Abstracts
- Abstract submission deadline is June 15, 2004.
- Abstracts are to be submitted in electronic form in both Russian
and English.
- Abstract text (including the title) not to exceed 400 words.
- Please, make sure that abstracts contain no tables, diagrams and
pictures.
- Abstract is to be submitted in Microsoft Word format, font is
Times New Roman, 12 point size.
- Abstract title is to be in capital bold letters.
- Please, indicate authors' names under the abstract title along
with the author's institution name, city and country. First and
middle initials should follow the author's last name. Please,
underline the name of a person who is going to present a paper.
- All abbreviations are to be defined the first time they are used
in the text.
Main requirements for paper submission
- Paper submission deadline is August 15, 2004.
- Papers are to be submitted in electronic form in both Russian
and English.
- The text and the tables are to be submitted in Microsoft Word
format, font is Times New Roman, 12 point size. The Figures,
diagrams, and pictures - in jpg, bmp, tiff formats. Paper title is
to be in capital bold letters. The authors' names are to be
indicated under the paper title along with each author's institution
name, city and country. First and middle initials should follow the
author's last name. Please, underline the name of a person who is
going to present a paper. All abbreviations are to be defined the
first time they are used in the text.
- Authors may submit unlimited number of papers.
- The Scientific Program Committee will make a decision if the
papers are accepted for oral or poster presentation and notify the
authors in timely manner.
- Authors whose papers are accepted are requested to confirm their
participation in the Conference form not later than August 31, 2004
otherwise the paper will not be included in the Conference Program.
Registration
No registration fee is charged.
