Position-Sensitive (Imaging) Detector of Neutron
Del Mar Ventures supply state of the art Neutron Imaging Detector
NID2000.
Neutron Position-Sensitive detection is realized by registration of luminescence generated
by neutrons passing Gd-doped screen using MCP
based image intensifier and CCD detector. NID2000 detects neutron fields in real time
and can be used for many "on-line" (in field) monitoring applications.

Specifications:
Gd-doped luminescent screen made of powder luminophore (Gd2O2S: Tb) for thermal neutrons and
composite material consisting of an organic resin and a powder luminophore (Gd2O2S:
Tb) for fast neutrons
Sensitive area diam. 30 - 350mm, other sizes available on request
CCD matrix 1000x1000 cooled by two-stage peltier (thermoelectric) cooler
Ultimate spatial resolution up to 30mm for thermal neutrons, about 1mm for fast neutrons
Detection efficiency - for thermal neutrons ~ 60%
2.5MeV neutrons (D-D reaction) ~ 1%
14MeV neutrons (D-T reaction) ~ 0.25%
Dynamic range - 14 bit
Detector size (for diam.150mm screen) ~ 400x400x1000mm
