These lenses have positive focal lengths, converge incident light, and form both real and virtual images. They closely approach best-form for infinite and near-infinite conjugate ratios.
Plano-convex lenses have preferred focal plane being that adjacent to the plano surface and are widely used in telescopes, collimators, optical transceivers, magnifiers, condenser system and eyepieces.
Lenses may be anti-reflection coated, for required coating please refer to Coatings section.
